Maintenance Technician

This maintenance technician will be part of a highly technical team performing preventative and reactive maintenance to support the production team in the manufacturing of premium wood entry door products. 

The job duties for this maintenance technician include, but are not limited to:

-         Working with outside vendors, tool room personnel, engineers, management, and operators to maintain computer numerical control systems (CNS’s) and other automated manufacturing equipment relative to current and new technology

-         Troubleshoot and repair all electrical and mechanical problems

-        Specifying, developing, modifying, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining sawdust collection, compressed air, steam boiler, and electrical distribution systems

-        Perform scheduled job order work, preventative maintenance, and emergency repair

The job requirements for this maintenance technician include, but are not limited to:

-          Manufacturing experience is preferred

-          Must maintain a PIV license

-          Schooling &/or experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, CNC troubleshooting, electricity & programming skills is highly preferred

-          Comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures of Pella Corporation

-          Ability to work with and around moving equipment/machines

-          Must be able to read and analyze technical schematics and blueprints

Maintenance technician training preferred includes, but is not limited to:

-          Basic Electricity

-          Motor Control I

-          Motor Control II

-          Class B Electrician

-          Pneumatics/Hydraulics

-          Programmable Controllers

-          Welding

-          Effective Mentoring Techniques

-          Maintenance Blueprint Reading

-          Intro to Auto Cad

-          CNC Programming / CNC Maintenance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

-          Lift up to 120 lbs. at waist level and up to 70 lbs. at shoulder level on an occasional basis when moving products

-          Push or pull with up to 100 lbs. of force on an occasional basis when moving products

-          Generate up to 100 lbs. of grip strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products

-          Generate up to 20 lbs. of pinch strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products

-          Display average coordination with both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasks

-          Perform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling products

-          Stoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling products

-          Reach forward and to the side on a frequent basis when handling products

-          Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during the course of each shift

-          Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day
