The Steward is responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of all dishwashing and pot washing areas and equipment. Operates/maintains dishwashing equipment properly to provide clean, sanitized china, glass and silver. Sorts/washes/stores all china, glassware, silverware, service wares, pots, pans, utensils. Operates floor cleaning equipment, maintaining resilient floor surfaces. Removes all trash from kitchen areas, operating garbage disposal and trash compactor. Performs breakdown of all food service materials and equipment after functions.


The Steward must have the ability to maintain quality of cleanliness and sanitation of the highest level and control and maintain china, glass, and silver monthly inventories.


Three months to 6 months of previous cleaning experience preferred with preference given to hotel experience. Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment. Must be able to work in humid and wet environment. Must have the ability to lift 30 lbs. and possess the mobility and dexterity required to meet the demands incumbent to this position. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.&
